I am Katie Hosbach, and this is my 14th year in the Troy School District. I am excited to provide a classroom that encourages students tolook closer, think harder, ask questions, find answers, try new materials, express themselves, create, wonder, and inspire others.
Growing up, I attended Rochester Community Schoolswhere I discovered and explored my love for art AND teaching. I received my bachelor of science in Art Education from Wayne State University in May of 2004. I also received my Masters degree in Art Education/Art Therapy in the spring of 2009 from WSU. I have lived in Royal Oak for 11 years with myhusband Mike who is also a teacherand coach in the Troy School District. In my free time, I enjoy creating paintings and mixed mediaartwork, practicing yoga, cooking, traveling, and taking walks with my two Old English sheepdogs, Oliver and Lucy.
I am very proud to be a part of the outstanding Troy School District. I truly enjoy working with children and love guiding them to develop a passion for becoming critical thinkers, problems solvers and innovators. The arts help students build solid connections with other academic areas and integrate learning across the curriculum. I am very excited to have an inspirational year with my students here atBemis.
